Your Ultimate JourneySample
YOUR ULTIMATE IDENTITY
2 CORINTHIANS 5:17
Who you are
Culture, religion, and how you were raised, including what people say and do, have a big impact on how you see yourself. Culture is manmade, and people are flawed, so you may have been conditioned to sell yourself short. The truth is: God made you. He is the only One who can define you. Psalm 139:13-17
His Spirit makes you new
When you received Jesus into your life, God sent His supernatural Spirit to live inside of you. Galatians 4:6 He gives you inner strength and fills your heart with love. 2 Timothy 1:7
A new you
His Spirit changes your nature forever. You become a new person.
God says you are now:
- His child.
John 1:12
- a renewed being.
2 Corinthians 5:17
- His beloved.
Jeremiah 31:3
- respected and valued.
Isaiah 43:4
- the apple of His eye (His favorite).
Zachariah 2:8.
In short, you are very precious to Him!
God declares that you become…
- victorious
1 John 4:4 & Romans 8:37
- free
John 8:32 & 36
- blessed
Ephesians 1:3
- a friend of Jesus
John 15:14-15.
By being open to His Word and the influence of His Spirit, God will make these aspects part of who you are.
Your new secure position
When you become a child of God, you can enjoy a very secure position in Him. From now on, you can rely on God for the following:
- everlasting life,
John 10:27-28
- protection,
1 Corinthians 10:13 & 2 Thessalonians 3:3
- 24/7 support,
Hebrews 13:5
- favor when you remain obedient,
Romans 8:31
- bad things turning out for your good,
Romans 8:28
- and inseparable love.
Romans 8:38-39
Satan is a bad loser
Beware attempts of the devil to break you down by using lies, rudeness, and opinions of others. Rather trust and hold on to the truth about how God looks at and feels about you.
Live who you are
Read and memorize the verses above daily until you believe them with all your heart. As you discover more helpful verses, write them down to affirm your God-given identity. This will radically impact the way you feel and think about yourself in an extremely positive way.
Which negative labels will change now that you know who you really are?
Lord, thank You for who I am in Christ. Help me to grow in my true identity and to live accordingly—in Jesus’s Name, amen.
ROMANS 8:37
