Elevation Rhythm: Growing Pains Devotional Sample
TRUST DEVO
Lyrics
Maybe it’s okay that I don’t know the future
To know You is all I need
Maybe it’s alright to close my eyes and follow
And trust You’ll take care of me
What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the word “future?” Are you ever overwhelmed or worried about the unknown?
Maybe you feel hopeless, like there’s no way out of your current situation.
Maybe you feel insecure, like what you have could be taken away at any moment.
Maybe you feel depressed, like things will never be as meaningful as they once were.
The future is a big and often terrifying concept. It’s full of things that are out of our control.
But Jesus has something else to say about the future:
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:31-33
Instead of worrying about what could come, we can find peace in knowing that Jesus already knows every step we’ll take and every decision we’ll face.
He chose you –– and He will ensure that you’re equipped to deal with whatever the future throws your way.
With Him, we can…
Feel hope, knowing that God’s not finished with your situation.
Feel security, knowing that He is always watching over you.
Feel joy, because the future can bring more wonderful things than you can imagine.
Today, what’s one step you can take towards resting in the truth that Jesus is watching out for you?
