Tamela Mann - One Way - The Overflow DevoSample
Come to Me
As we were preparing to finish “Come to Me” in the studio, I found out that my 46-year-old niece had transitioned from this life to be with the Lord. I was heartbroken. I was overwhelmed.
My niece was a strong young woman. She loved the Lord and she had overcome so many storms in her life. Upon hearing that she had passed away, I didn't know exactly what to say. But my primary comfort was in two things: my niece knew the Lord, and I knew who to call on during difficult times: Jesus.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever had to grieve the loss of a loved one. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been so heavy that you just felt like you couldn’t make it. Sudden death is never easy; and no matter how much you try to prepare for it, you’re never prepared.
But no matter what you may be dealing with: hurt, pain, betrayal, anxiety, frustration, heaviness...whatever it may be, You can always come to the Father. His arms are always open. His ears are inclined to your needs. He will never leave you and never forsake you; and his promises will outlast time!
The thing I love about God is that there is no problem too hard for him to solve. There is no question He can't answer. Some days, you may have questions. Some days, you may not see your way. Some days, you will need to bring your broken heart to God.
But the good news is, God will always be there to hear your cry. God is always available. There is nothing too hard for God to handle or fix. That is the central message of this song. I want you to know that no matter what you may face in life, you can come to our God with an open heart and with open hands. God is faithful to bring you through, one day at a time.
