Can you remember your first friend as a child and how special it was to have someone to share your joy, activities, new toys, and thoughts with? As you grew, you probably acquired more friends and learned about the commitment of friendship.

I am sure that you have had some friends who have been very faithful and loyal to you. These ones are special gifts from God in life. It is God’s desire for you to have wonderful friends who you can share your heart, life, and dreams with and who will stand with you in love and faith no matter what.

I once met a lonely woman who told me she had not had a friend since grade school when her only close classmate betrayed her. We prayed and within days God provided and she had a few people reach out to her. Within a few months she was establishing friendships. She also came to know Jesus personally and learned of his unconditional love and friendship.

Friends are truly a blessing in life, but there is a Friend who trumps all other friends. He is there when your other friends fail and falter, and He is always your greatest support. When we acknowledge Jesus as our primary friend, He will show us how to build good lasting friendships with others.

You will always reap what you sow. With intentionality, sow love and kindness into friendships and you will reap loving and kind friends!

I decree that:

1. Jesus Christ is my primary friend who is closer than a brother. He is a friend of sinners and has drawn me to Himself as His very own.

2. By faith, I receive greater grace to be a good friend at all times.

3. I generously sow love, loyalty, steadfastness, and kindness into others, and therefore I reap friendships that are loving, loyal, steadfast, and kind.

Make a list of your friends and note how they have blessed you in specific areas of your life. Every friend impacts you differently. Thank God for them and then pray about ways you can sow encouragement and honor into their lives this week.
