Walk Through The Bible 365 - JulySample
I Did It
Confession is a lost spiritual discipline in the evangelical community. We've focused so much on grace and mercy and positive thinking, we've lost sight of the responsibility to confess our sins. We don't like to admit where we've failed, let alone those of our ancestors, as the Israelites did in the passage today. But it was not only important to them; the apostle John's first letter reminds us it's important for us today too.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive me for my presumption and arrogance concerning all you've done for me. My unconfessed sins stand before me today and I confess them and ask your forgiveness based on the blood of Jesus. Restore me, Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
