Embrace the Race: Persevering Through Challenging TimesSample
The God of Justice
God is not only a God of restoration but also a God of justice. He is righteous and fair and longs to bring justice to his people. Mordecai, Esther, and the Jewish people were on the verge of destruction. However, in just a matter of a few days, God completely turned around their circumstances.
As a result of Esther's bravery, the King recognized Haman's wickedness and executed him, giving over his entire estate to Esther. Ironically, the same pole Haman had set up to impale Mordecai was where the King put him to death.
Although grateful for Haman's removal, Esther knew the lives of her people were still at risk. Haman had already delivered the edict to every province and by law, the King could not revoke any document written by his hand. Making a new decree was the only way to neutralize this previous proclamation. Esther found favor with King Xerxes and he allowed Mordecai and Esther to send out a new edict. This proclamation affirmed the right for the Jewish people to coexist in the nation and, in turn, defend themselves against any enemies who attacked them.
Daily Challenge
When faced with intimidation and fear, Esther still chose to push through. She humbled herself in prayer and trusted God would provide a way for her and her people. Thank God today for the influence he has also given you. Choose to resist fear and intimidation and be an advocate for justice in the world around you.
