My Hiding PlaceSample
An eternal hiding place
Our God is not only a safe refuge, but He is also eternal.
We belong to an immovable God, who cannot be shaken or destroyed.
We serve a God who makes Himself available to us to be our hiding place, not just for a moment, but for eternity.
Deuteronomy 33:27 reminds us that our God holds us forever in his arms:
"The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms.
He will drive out your enemies before you,
saying, ‘Destroy them!’".
We have God's eternal protection. He surrounds us, holds us, and protects us with His mighty hands. Because He is eternal, He can be our hiding place in times of need.
Why is it better to take refuge in God? Because He is the best refuge!
Many times, we choose temporary hiding places—perhaps in our work, possessions, positions, relationships, routines, or social networks. But these things are not stable. They might make you feel safe at times, but that false security will only last for a season. However, the security that Jesus gives us will last forever.
You are not alone—not now, not ever, because God is with you. Who are you going to turn to when things get difficult? God reminds you that He wants to be your refuge, He wants to give you the strength to keep going. Jesus is our perfect, available, safe, and eternal hiding place.
Today, I want to encourage you to run to Jesus and make Him your refuge.
When you feel like there is no way out, run to your highest hiding place!
When you are out of strength, run into the arms of Jesus!
When you don't understand why some things happen, trust that God is in control.
Our problems are temporary, but our God is eternal!
Prayer: Jesus, I thank You that we find refuge and strength in You. Help us to run to You in times of uncertainty. Help us to have the confidence that You are our rock, shelter, shield, and protection. Amen.
