Being Drawn to GodSample
Total Surrender to God
The founder and the first general of the Salvation Army, William Booth, who was given the title, 'The Prophet of the Poor' displayed such spiritual power. One day he wrote in his dairy, “God shall have all there is of William Booth”.
God has every bit of me!
Does God have every bit of us? Are our lives totally surrendered to the Lord? Or is there some mixture in our lives? Alas! So close yet so far.
The Laodicean church had Jesus at the door and the promised reward for the overcomers was the ultimate. Jesus said, “I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne” (Revelation 3:21).
But their problem was:
a) Mixture – lukewarm – God was not their all and He did not have their all.
b) Under deception - They thought they had everything and needed nothing.
Do you know what is more evil than pure evil? It is the mixture of both good and evil. Therefore, the Lord told Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (mixture). God hates mixture. 2 Corinthians 6:14,15 says, “… For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? …”
Don’t be deceived. Confess and forsake your sins and lead a life of total surrender to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you in these things, depend on Him and He will guide you into all truth.
May the words of D. L. Moody spoken several years ago stir us up now - “The world has yet to see what God will do with a man fully consecrated to Him”.
Don’t miss God’s highest plan for your life in this world and the world to come.
In this world: the full possession of God and the life of God overflowing through you to all those around you.
In the world to come: Jesus will share His throne with you. You will rule and reign with Him forever.
Beloved, let God have every bit of you.
Prayer: Father, I surrender my all to you. Please help me in Jesus’ name. Amen!
