Refiner’s Fire: A 6-Day DevotionalSample
You’re Always With Us
Prepare:
Notice how God has been present with you the past few days. How would you like to respond to Him now?
Read:
❖ Romans 8:38-39
❖ Matthew 28:20b
Consider:
“You may be lonely, but you are never alone” is a phrase from a Sunday School curriculum from many years ago. It’s a great way of saying that no matter how lonely you may feel, God is always with you. It can be easy to forget when you feel like an outsider, are deserted by friends or facing a difficult situation. Take some time now to reflect on how near the Lord is to you in this moment.
Meditate:
In what spaces do you experience loneliness?
Where do you need to sense the presence of God more fully?
Activate:
❖ Imagine Jesus sitting with you as you eat your meals, commute to work, and walk beside you as you go about your day.
❖ Talk aloud to God with you when are by yourself.
❖ Reach out to someone in your community who is lonely.
❖ Carry on internal conversations with the Lord as you do routine tasks.
❖ Notice when you feel lonely. Are there any themes: places, situations that trigger loneliness for you?
Prayer:
Father, you are amazing. Please give me whatever I need to be the hands and feet of Christ today. Forgive me as I forgive others. Teach me to walk in step with your Spirit. Lead me away from all that would turn my eyes from you. I love you. Amen
