Practice of Faith

Do you feel like sometimes you don’t have enough faith? Do you wish you had more faith? Have you ever prayed to God asking to increase your faith?

The disciples once asked Jesus this exact same thing:

Luke 17:5-6 NIV - "The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you."

Jesus' response to their request of "increase our faith" was not "okay" or "yes, sure" or "let it be done." Jesus' response was to use whatever faith you have right now, even if it is as small as a mustard seed. 

The only way to increase your faith is to use the faith you already have. The more faith you use, the more faith you will have. Practice your faith every day.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I don’t have a lot of faith today, but I am using the little faith I have. I believe that even with this little faith, I can uproot mighty things. I pray this in your name, Jesus, amen.
