Dealing With LonelinessSample
Are you ever alone?
Can you believe you’re never alone, even if you are alone? It sounds like a contradiction, doesn’t it?
Did you know Jesus felt this way? In John 16:32, Jesus told His disciples, “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.” (John 16:32, NIV)
I’ve been amazed when widows and widowers tell me their journeys with grief. They feel so alone, and their grief is almost unbearable...but then God shows up. They’ve often shared that the presence of God touched their hearts and minds at a critical moment.
In John 14:26, Jesus tells His disciples, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26, KJV)
Even when you feel alone, you will never really be alone because the Holy Spirit is right there with you. He’ll give you strength and comfort. Believe that God will even send ministering angels to help you through the worst of times. “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14, NIV)
Maybe you just lost a close friend or family member, and it really hurts. There’s a gaping hole in your soul. I can so relate to this feeling. My mentor, Dr. Richard Dobbins, passed away over five years ago, but I still feel a void. It hurts, but I’m never alone.
I’m praying for you right now, that you will feel the Comforter fill your heart and mind with His presence. If you believe this truth, you will begin to feel it.
Because you’re a miracle.
