I wish I could tell you that I prayed one single prayer and that I was instantly healed of all the pain of my past, but that would not be true. Learning to face the truth was a big thing for me. Learning to receive the unconditional love of God was also profoundly difficult. And learning to truly forgive the perpetrators of the abuse against me was the single most difficult thing I have ever done – but it was the one thing above everything else that resulted in my gaining true freedom.
