Life IS... Soaring Like an Eagle

This is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it. (Ps. 118:24). Make another commitment to yourself that you are not going back to the person you use to be. You are going to continue to move forward and look ahead.  You will not be guilty of living below your God-given potential.  You will face life's obstacles as if they are runways and soar like an Eagle.

Let me tell you about an extraordinary person who saw obstacles as runways in her life and soared - my mother.  Shortly before her eighth birthday, her mother passed away.  Their father raised her and her eight siblings.  My mother did not finish her senior year in high school because she got married and became pregnant at seventeen.  Needless to say, her life changed instantly.  However, she made a promise to herself that no matter how long it took, she would eventually finish high school.

Fast forward, married, working full-time, and with five children, my mother graduated from high school with my oldest brother.  There were no online classes - she had to go to night school physically.  She did not stop there. After having her seventh child, which was me, she later attended Barbizon Modeling School and graduated.  My mom was determined not to let the circumstances of her life stop her or define her future, nor did she allow her age to slow her down.  At eighty-nine, she was just as feisty as she was during her younger years.  She constantly instilled in me, and those who knew her, to never let an obstacle stop you. She would often tell me, "go around, jump over or go under, but keep moving until you reach your goal."

Prayer:

Father, there are some situations and circumstances that have been obstacles in my life.  Right now, I choose to take control of my life and SOAR like an Eagle.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
