Day 4 - Voices & Decision-making
As we go on to our last day of this devotional series, it becomes clear that we as Christians need to listen to God daily. Anyone can hear someone they know call their name through a crowd far easier than a stranger because they recognise their Voice! The key through all of this isn’t the lack of the other voices we hear, it is the clarity of the one we focus on.
Here are some practical tips for us to grow in listening to God’s Voice:
1. By the guidance of God’s Word.
What is God saying through His Word? We have to establish God’s Word first before all other voices. This is the most important; we need to filter everything we know and experience about God through His Word! It is imperative not to get sidetracked and misled by other people’s revelations but to first hear from God Himself through scripture and personal devotion.
2. By the guidance of the gifts of the Spirit and the Godly counsel of spiritual leaders, friends and family.
God has not made us to be alone! Around the world, there are so many great spiritual leaders and churches that are committed to helping you.
Use the standards found in scripture of healthy leadership and get plugged into the active life of a Spiritual family!
3. Peace in our hearts by the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
God often speaks through peace, and when we see peace in its original Hebrew word Shalom, it means nothing missing, nothing broken, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquillity. So we take this into account as Christians, with Jesus as our Lord and Savior and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we know that when we experience this peace over what we are praying about it is God guiding us!
Thank you so much for doing this devotional!
We here at Every Nation Faith City would love to connect with you as well, so please let us know if you need prayer or connection!
