The Greatest Story: Through the Bible in a Year

DAY 38 OF 260

Scripture: Physically write out key passages and sentences from today's Scripture. You’ll be amazed what God will reveal to you just by taking the time to slow down and actually write  what you're reading!

Observation: What did you see in the passage you read? Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What is the theme? What stands out to you? What do you think it means?

Application: This is when God’s Word becomes personal. What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my own personal life? What changes do I need to make? Is there an action that I need to take?

Prayer: Pray God’s Word back to Him. If He has revealed something to you during this time in His Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life. Ask for help, strength, comfort, peace, wisdom, boldness . . . whatever you need in order to walk in His Word and will.

This week's memory verse is Matthew 11:28–30:

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

About this Plan

The Greatest Story: Through the Bible in a Year

This plan emphasizes the essential mountain peaks of Scripture through two narrative paths. The first traces the pivotal chapters revealing God's redemptive work from Genesis through the New Testament epistles. The second focuses on the life of Christ and its continuing impact in Acts and Revelation as we zoom in on the central figure of Scripture.
