The Process of Transformation
What does the hard work of transformation really look like?
As I’ve explored this layered topic, I’ve found three keys to whether transformation happens:
1. Secrecy
2. Confession
3. Vulnerability
The first hinders transformation. Darkness can’t exist where the light is, and secrecy keeps the light from ever entering in.
The second key is the first step toward transformation, and that’s confession. Airing our “dirty laundry” isn’t easy or fun. Many times it’s heartbreaking, for both ourselves and the listener. But it’s also essential and healing, which is why it’s so important to prayerfully seek out people who will push you toward purpose and encourage you when discouragement attacks.
Lastly, vulnerability is necessary for the ongoing process of transformation. It necessitates walking with others on the journey. It prioritizes honesty, and it keeps shame from taking hold. Why? Because God designed us for relationship, with Him and with others, so we can experience acceptance, love and forgiveness.
Personal Reflection
Of the three keys, which one is the Holy Spirit highlighting for you right now? In what ways can you foster vulnerability in your life for greater healing and continued growth?

About this Plan
Culture often dictates that our worth, path, and identity are determined by our race, gender, the things we’ve done, and the things that have been done to us. Over the next 30 days, we will discover what it looks like to be bold, transparent, and confront our shame.
