A Jolt of JoySample
The people of Judah were about to be attacked by a ruthless and enormous enemy. They had gathered in the House of God to pray and seek help from the Lord. With breathless anticipation, the entire population of this country waited for a Word from God. Would they all be slaughtered? Would their homes be burned and pillaged? Would their wives and daughters be raped? When suddenly, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel, of the sons of Asaph. Jahaziel was a worship leader! His family had led worship for at least 6 generations and at this crossroads of history, God spoke to Jahaziel, "Don't be afraid! God is on this! You don't need to worry because God will fight for you! You just need to stand in faith!" These same words echo across the ages from Jahaziel's lips to your heart. God is on your side and He will fight for you today. The same God Who opened the Red Sea is on your side! The God Who slew Goliath by the hand of David will fight for you! The same God who closed the mouths of the lions for Daniel is in charge of your life. And then what did King Jehoshaphat do? He fell down before the Lord and worshipped. That sounds like good advice to me ... what about you? When you are facing an enemy who is coming against your life, you might want to do what this earthly king did ... he fell on his face before the Lord and worshipped. If it was good enough for Jehoshaphat ... it is good enough for you. This has nothing to do with whether you are Baptist or Pentecostal ... Lutheran or Charismatic ... Episcopal or Holy Roller! I intend to spend time every day of my life on my face in heartfelt worship. It is a position of power and victory! When you are fighting a battle that is bigger than you, it is a strategic position for those who know that they were created to overcome! And finally, what did Jehoshaphat do? He stood up and praised the Lord with a very loud voice! I'm listening ... are you willing to worship with Jehoshaphat? Let the praises ring ... we are about to win!
