Rise Up & Stand Firm—A Study of 1 Peter (Part 4)Sample
Rejoice, Commit, and Do Good
Ready to rise up and stand firm?
Pray:
Holy Spirit, I need Your help. Please guide me, fill me, and teach me.
Today’s Goal:
Discover how to rise up and stand firm in the face of trials.
Study Tip:
When you read, do you notice a word, verse, or passage that needs more clarity? Make a note of it and consider doing a little research.
Read and Write:
- How many references to suffering does this passage have?
- What is the main message of this passage? Write out a summary.
Reflect:
- Why should fiery trials not surprise us?
- Under what circumstances does Peter use these words: rejoice, joy, blessed/glorify, and praise?
- What reasons for rejoicing and praise does Peter give?
- What do you think “the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you” means? (See John 14:16-19.)
Apply:
- Based on today’s lesson, how is your faith encouraged?
- What action will you take?
