You Can Run, but You Can’t HideSample
In this season, there is a lot of fear around the unknown, especially since we are in a global pandemic with lots of uncertainties. Often we fear the future because we can’t control it, so we try to control what is in our present because it’s the next closest thing. This is what Hagar did when she ran, but ultimately, when she surrendered control to God, and returned to face her fear, she was able to receive the blessing on her son and the generations to come from him. We can be assured that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. God sees the bigger picture and can direct our steps if we allow him to.
Question:
Identify one area of your life that you have been trying to control and need to surrender to God. Confess this worry, fear, and control to a trusted friend and ask for prayer to surrender it daily to Jesus. We all need people in our lives who can share the journey and who push us toward trusting God.
