SE Students - No Matter What - Part 3Sample
Think about that moment when you get reconnected to a friend or family member you haven't seen in a long time in person. COVID-19 has taken many things away from life, but it has also given way to a great collective of viral video moments of friends who hadn't seen each other in months reuniting in person. Tears of sadness turn to tears of joy in an instant and no one can stop them from happening.
The disciples were in a similar situation. Many things would be taken away from them the moment it felt like the bad guys won at Jesus' trials and crucifixion. Three days later, they experienced what Jesus had talked about in John 16—a joy that no one could take away as they met the now fully alive, no-longer-in-the-grave Jesus!
As followers of Jesus, we may be experiencing moments of loss, grief, and sorrow. It may feel at times as if Jesus is far away and things are not going to change for the better. However, we do not have to hold on to this moment as our forever feeling. There is a reunion coming—one full of unimaginable joy—when Jesus returns to make everything right again.
No matter what comes through the door of life, there will be a reunion one day with Jesus that will bring a joy that no one will ever take away from us!
