The Holy Spirit Helps You Pray
So, you’ve got God’s armor covering you. And you’re starting to feel stronger and more able to stand against evil. But what’s next? Is there more? Is there anything else you should do besides standing strong?
Oh yes! So much more—and it’s some of the best stuff yet. In fact, you already read about it way back on Day One of this Bible Plan when you read Ephesians 6:18. Don’t worry. You’ll read that verse again today to refresh your memory!
You’ve learned that there are invisible enemies working against you. You’ve learned that so often, the struggle between good and evil is right inside your own mind!
So, if this battle is invisible to you, is there anyone who can see through it? Who can help you know what to fight? Who can help you know how to even pray?
So glad you asked! Watch this video to learn a whole lot more.
Um, kind of beyond amazing, right? God’s Holy Spirit can pray words for you when you don’t even know what to pray for yourself? That must be one of the most mind-blowing things about being a follower of Jesus. The Holy Spirit intercedes. He speaks up—in support of you.
Try to let all that sink in today. Tomorrow, we’ll finish up this Bible Plan with more about the Holy Spirit and all that God wants to do in you and through you, when you allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life.
Ask yourself: When do I find myself with questions or problems so big I’m not even sure how to pray about them? Who can I talk to when I’m facing these problems or questions? Maybe it’s a parent, a wise and Jesus-following friend, a trusted adult, a counselor, or someone else.
Challenge yourself: Write down one of your big questions or one of your big problems. Bring it to the person you identified as someone you can talk to when you’re facing these problems or questions. Remember, the Holy Spirit is always with you. You can ask Him your big questions or bring Him your biggest concerns, too!
Pray: God, thank You for all the ways You support me through life’s highs and lows. You said the Holy Spirit will pray and intercede for me when I don’t even know what to pray myself. Thank You for being so good to me. Help me to love, trust, and follow You every day for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
