5 Days To ChristmasSample
You know people are going to be coming over when your parents make you clean the house every day for a week before Christmas. 7 days of cleaning for a 3-hour event. There can be a lot of anxiety to having people over: is there enough toilet paper in the bathroom? Are there enough seats for everyone? And who will change the conversation when politics comes up?
These two guys in Scripture asked Jesus where he was staying; they wanted to get to know him better and learn from him. I love the words in His response. “Come and you will see.” He doesn’t say "let me tidy up," or "you go home and shower first." He simply said, “Come and you will see.”
He wanted to get to know them better too and to teach them about faith. Jesus invites us to do the same. It isn’t enough to piggyback our faith on the faith of our parents, or our Small Group Leaders, or even our friends, but he asks us to "come see" for ourselves. Jesus isn’t anxious about what you might find and doesn’t ask you to clean yourself up first.
Today, write a letter (or type out a note in your phone) about the things you want to know about Jesus or questions you might have about faith.

About this Plan
Beyond the Christmas movies, nativity scenes, and gift promotions—it’s pretty safe to say that there’s a sense that there should be more to the Christmas season. There might be more to the Christmas story than the one we’re told. The Christmas story is one that we have to experience for ourselves.
