USING OUR FREEDOM WELL

Do you ever think about what it means to be free?

Our world sees freedom in light of independence and choice, being able to call the shots, and not being restricted by anything. Perhaps, freedom is found through affluence or having a lot of stuff. However, the freedom found in Jesus is very different.

In God’s goodness, He has given us Jesus. 

In Jesus, we have been set free from sin and death, and were given new life in Him. That’s massive, liberating news. But as Galatians 5:13 tells us, the freedom we now have is one that allows us to live lives of service. This is not how our world sees freedom!

For the ultimate example of service, we look to Jesus. The Son of God used His own freedom to serve His Father and those He met. We will fail at using our freedom for the sake of others, but let this be a challenge to us. May we pray to our Father that He would make us more like His Son, and that we would serve others well.
