Nobody touched lepers. No one ever hugged them, shook their hands or even brushed against them in a crowd. Lepers had a skin disease and lived separate from everyone else. Nobody went near a leper, much less touched one willingly. Except Jesus. Jesus could have cured the man with a word or a look — but he didn’t. Jesus went the extra mile to love the leper by healing him with a touch — the one thing the man craved more than anything else.
