There's Hope For Todayනියැදිය

CHITA, SIBERIA: A container with 40,000 copies of the Book of Hope sat on the back of a flat-bed truck outside a warehouse. There were no palettes or forklifts to be seen. One thousand packages had to be unloaded and stacked 40 yards down a hallway – by hand. One person could get the job done in a day, if they kept at it. By days end, that lonely worker would have made five hundred trips down the long hallway.

OneHope teams have learned the power of unity in diversity. It’s a lesson learned “bucking books.” When it was time to unload, we showed up with forty team members. It took about five minutes to get a human chain organized. It took an hour to unload, move, and stack 40,000 books. A 21-year-old saxophone player from Perm anchored one end of the line. A pre-teen girl from Greensboro, North Carolina, took her place. A bishop’s wife from Ukraine stood alongside an interpreter from Kraznoyarsk. Russian, Ukrainian, Siberian, and American all worked together – and had great fun in the process.
