Cleanse & Purify With Dr. BobSample
Healing Herbs
Throughout my years of study and practice, I am always reminded God had a good plan when He created the world. In His roadmap for humanity, He has provided everything we need to live a long and healthy life, including herbs, which can be found in multiple forms including plants and spices. Like oils mentioned in the previous day’s reading, herbs and spices were often exchanged as a gift, most notably the frankincense and myrrh presented to Jesus from the Magi, or three wise men. Another herb used multiple times in Scripture is aloe. Aloe was used in preparation for Jesus’ burial and can be used today as a healing agent to help burns and moisturize skin.
Besides topical application, herbs can add a variety of unique flavors while cooking. In Proverbs, we are told that a dinner of herbs where love is present is better than a fatted calf with strife. I have found that anger sometimes results from having a congested liver, and herbs like peppermint and dandelion aid with digestion and liver cleansing. Garlic was well-regarded by the Israelites, and they had fond memories of its benefits while they were in the wilderness. It is also one of my personal favorite herbs to add flavor while cooking and it contains many health benefits including sulfur that helps to detoxify the body and boost your immune system. As we conclude this day's reading and devotional, I encourage you to pray and ask God what areas in your life need to be purified and also thank Him for giving us natural remedies to reach optimal health. Be Blessed!
