Great Adventurers (Week 5)Sample
Day Seven - A Willing Heart
Welcome to our Great Adventurers Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey and look at some of the Great Adventurers in the Bible.
As we finish up this week's devotional, let's have a look at what we have learnt about Mary and her willing heart.
READ:
'An Angel Visits Mary' in the Beginners Bible (pages 266 - 270) or Luke 1:26-38
- Even though Mary was scared when she saw the angel, she listened as the angel reassured her and told Mary that she was very special to God.
- The angel went on to tell Mary some very big, scary but exciting things!.....
- Mary would become pregnant. She would give birth to a son and name him Jesus AND He would be called the Son of the Most High God!!! Wow!!!
- The angel told Mary that all things are possible with God. Even though Mary was not married, through the Holy Spirit she would become pregnant - it was a miracle! With man this is impossible but with God all things are possible!
- Mary was so humble and said to the angel that she loved God and would do what God had chosen her to do. Because of Mary’s willingness God blessed her with becoming the mother of Jesus! That’s incredible!
ASK:
Mary was bold and had a willing heart that loved God and wanted to do as God had chosen her to do.
God has a plan for all of us; maybe He will ask us to do something that needs us to be bold!
Whatever His plan is for us, we can be sure that it is a good plan and that God will always be with us.
Let’s say thank you to God today for His unfailing love - get creative with this, have fun, and don’t forget to ask your grownup to send us some photos of you doing this on Facebook or Instagram @freedomkidsglobal.
REMEMBER:
‘Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!”’ (Matthew 19:26)
SAY:
I’m an adventurer,
I am bold, I am strong with the word of the Lord,
I will follow wherever you lead.
I won’t stop, I’ve been set free.
In Jesus name, Amen!

About this Plan
In the Bible, we see that through ‘Great Adventurers’ God has changed the world around them for good. God can take the seemingly bad things and turn them for good. We will follow in the footsteps of these ‘Great Adventurers’ and see how God, through their boldness, changed the world around them! This week we’re looking at the story of Mary and our memory verse in Matthew 19:26.
