Real Hope: LonelinessSample
WELCOME TO THE WILDERNESS
In the book of Hosea, I found this passage of scripture where the Lord is talking to His beloved children of Israel, and that totally described a season I had recently walked through.
I started it feeling incredibly vulnerable and alone, and yet I wasn’t … God had taken hold of my hands. I referred to this particular season in my life as a ‘wilderness experience’. Instead of my normal Monday to Friday busy routine inside the four walls of a building, many meetings and a flurry of activities, my ‘wilderness experience’ consisted pretty much with just me and long walks in nature! I remember starting my journey with the words ‘How did I get here Lord?’ But let me encourage you, it wasn’t long before I began saying – ‘Lord, I don’t want to leave here.’ The One who promised ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ (Hebrews 13:5) walked every step with me and it became an incredibly rich time of newfound hope in a very personal Saviour. My ‘trouble’ or my circumstances became a blessed journey that anchored me even further in hope.
If you are feeling alone, like you’re in your own wilderness, God wants to walk alongside you through the valley of trouble and into a new day. Jesus Christ is called our Blessed Hope! Allow Him to walk beside you and He will transform that valley you are walking through into a door of hope.

About this Plan
You can feel lonely by yourself or in the biggest crowd, surrounded by people and still feel lonely. It is a feeling that doesn’t discriminate and can come upon us at a moment’s notice. But how do we cope with it? Can we see God in these moments? This plan aims to help us consider our response to loneliness and how we can seek God in these moments.
