KEY 1 // WHO IS JESUS? 

Who is Jesus? Good question. I suppose it's the most important question when becoming a Christian or exploring what this whole Christian faith is all about; it is all pretty much centered around Jesus. If you have just started your journey as a Christian, then the best place to start would be to ask this simple question, who is Jesus? The answer to this question is pretty simple. Today and back in the day (as in Jesus’ time) people used to say Jesus was all kinds of things! He was hated and loved by many, but did people actually know who He was?

In Matthew 16:15-17, Jesus gathered His disciples asking them;

“But who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He was sent down to earth for us to be able to enter into a relationship with God again. He suffered for us and showed us how we are meant to live. He is a true example of how to live as Christians. To understand the character and nature of God we look at the life and example Jesus set when He walked on Earth. Is He God? Yes. Was He human? For His time on earth, He was fully God and fully man. Crazy, right? It sounds like someone we ought to meet!

Yes, this answer is simple. He is the Son of God, but like everyone you meet for the first time, you don't yet know fully, until you’ve spent more time with them and made an effort to get to know them. You get closer to them the more you spend time with them, and the more you continuously learn things about them.

1. SPEND TIME WITH JESUS 

Spend time in His presence by praying and having conversations with Him. The more time we spend with friends and family, the people we care about the most, annoying or not so annoying, we learn to understand who they are in a personal way. It’s the same with Jesus; the more time we spend with Him the more we get to know Him and understand who He is.

2. ​READ THE BIBLE

3. ASK QUESTIONS 

When finding out more about Jesus, you may find that you have LOADS of questions - Questions you might not have answers to and that’s totally okay! Ask someone you trust, like a youth leader, pastor, wise friend, or even a parent. Having conversations about Jesus is pretty cool and you will learn a lot!
