Hooked ConversationsSample
Home
Underneath the familiar narrative of the prodigal son’s premature and reckless departure lies the unspoken perspective of the Father’s heart while he watches his baby boy choose immediate access to inheritance over identity. Immaturity will always lead us to operate by an alternate reality, especially when grown-up decisions are required. What was the silent conversation in the father’s heart while he watched his youngest son, full of underdeveloped promise and potential, walk away down the dusty road to a future he wasn’t equipped to handle? Did he feel the painful punch of ultimate disregard? For normally, one doesn’t receive an inheritance until their father is dead. Did the young son count his father’s life as “unnecessary” in his own? Did he now view the man that gave him life and worked so hard to bless him as a barrier or worse, a burden? Surely the sting of salty tears stained his eyes as his seed disappeared in the distance. What didn’t he give him? Did he give him too much? Why wasn’t his love enough? What could he have done to make him stay? As painfully confusing as it was, the father is clear about one thing: he knows he will return. And at that moment in his heart, he begins to prepare for it.
Here’s the reality of a Father’s love: sometimes He allows the necessary circumstance caused by our rebellion to “course correct” us and lead us back into His house for restoration and healing.
Home is the place of ultimate restoration and reposition. It not only signifies the reclamation of what belongs to you, but also where we belong to Him. Home is where the Father’s heart is. He has great plans for us to help Him in the “family business” to make our names great as we make His name known. No matter how far we may stray, He’s always waiting for us to come back home. There’s still work that must be done. Come home.

About this Plan
Every love story deserves its own music. It is the amalgamation of love & life set to lyrics & orchestration that brings one into the journey. If the love relationship between God & man had a soundtrack, HOOKED would be it. From the Father’s heart exposed to His compelling “signature” of love at Calvary, we should all be “hooked” on Him like He pursues us.
