Comfort Zone
James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Nadab and Abihu heard God’s command about using a special fire for the offering, but they did not do according to God’s command. They did not take it seriously. It didn't please God. As a result, they died.
There are times when we also do not take God’s commands seriously. We have heard His command but we end up not doing it accordingly because it is out of our comfort zone.
For example, God wants us to give thanks in every situation. We have heard this command before. However, in certain situations we choose to grumble and complain, instead of giving thanks, because grumbling is easier and more comfortable to do at that time.
Let us make a decision today that we will be doing God’s word, even when you have to step out of your comfort zone. Do it because of your love to God. Let us be the doer of His word, not just hearer.
Prayer
Dear God, please search my heart and remind me if I have gone astray from Your word. Amen.
