Kari Jobe - The Blessing Devotional Sample
Title:
The Wondrous Gift of God’s Presence
Devotional:
There’s nothing more precious and powerful than the presence of God.
It’s what I pursue every time I worship. It’s what I seek throughout my day. It’s what we were made to experience every moment of our lives. And yet, there are times He can feel distant. There are seasons when we can feel detached from His presence.
That’s why I want to encourage you today not to let your feelings distract you from what’s true. So, right now, take a moment and let these scriptures increase your faith and give you hope…
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8, ESV
The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14, NIV
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence… Psalm 16:11, NIV
…and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Matthew 1:23, NIV
God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” Hebrews 13:5-6, NIV
God won’t abandon you. He won’t forsake you. His heart is for you. He is passionately and unconditionally in love with you. And He longs for you to experience the wondrous gift of His presence every day of your life.
It’s why He gave us the Holy Spirit! We can enter into intimate relationship with Him, then be sent out in boldness, love, and truth to the world around us. So, ask yourself: In what ways can I invite God’s presence into my life today? In my work? In my studies? In my relationships? How does God want to bless me so He can work through me to bless others?
A life lived in intimate relationship with God, a life that whole-heartedly pursues His presence, is what we were made for. And you can experience it today.
May His presence go before you
And behind you and beside you
All around you and within you
He is with you, He is with you
