Share the Blessing
For in the law God gave to Moses, he said that you must not put a muzzle on an ox to keep it from eating when it is treading out the wheat. Do you suppose God was thinking only about oxen when he said this? 1 Corinthians 9:9 TLB
What if you paid your staff more than the industry standard? What if you shared more of the blessing of profit that the company makes with them? How much of an impact do you think that might have on them? Their families? What if you found creative ways to give more to your staff? Creative ways like health insurance, scholarships for their kids, home purchase grants, or a bonus, just because.
What's keeping you from sharing more, really? Greed? Fear that you will not have enough left? Scripture says, “It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes, the liberal man shall be rich! By watering others, he waters himself.” (Proverbs 11:24 TLB)
Actually, paying people just enough might spring from a scarcity mentality, and this doesn't appear to be consistent with the nature of God, for He gives generously. Just think of how God lavishes grace on us and “... always richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment” (1 Timothy 6:17 TLB)
The question is, if we are true “partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4 AMPC), if we are truly His offspring, should we not be just as generous and limitless in our thinking as He is?
The thing is, if you allow the generosity of God to flow through you in sharing the blessing of God on your business with those who are your co-laborers, you really can rest assured that the outcomes can only ultimately be positive, because “Whatever measure you use to give – large or small – will be used to measure what is given back to you.” (Luke 6:38 TLB).
