The Greatest GiftSample
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Part Two - Jesus is the greatest gift
God has given us the greatest gift and His name is Jesus. He shows how much He loves us by giving all of us the greatest gift for free! Everyone can receive this gift – they just need to be willing to take it from Him. We are all very special to God and He doesn’t want anyone to miss out!
When we give a gift to someone, we spend time looking for something that we think that person will really like; something that they will enjoy, use or play with – something that is just right for them and make them happy! That is exactly what God did when He sent Jesus as a gift to us. He sent His Son, the most precious thing to Him to show us how precious we are. Not only did God want to give us this precious gift for free, but it lasts forever!
When Jesus was born, He was born in a stable in Bethlehem. People brought lots of gifts to Him, because He was so special! God wants us to accept the gift He has given us and ask Jesus to be a part of our lives forever. God also wants to increase His family, by sharing about Jesus with our friends and family. You could do this by being kind and loving to someone in school or telling your friends that Jesus is always with them looking out for them!
ASK:
Why do you think God gave us such an incredible gift?
Who do you know that doesn’t know about the gift of Jesus? How can you share Jesus with them?
PRAY:
Dear God, Thank you for loving me so much that you sent your Son Jesus to earth to come and care for me – knowing this makes me feel very special indeed. Thank you for loving and caring for me. Thank you that you know what I need. Thank you for looking after me. Thank you that you can make me bold and courageous so that I can share with my friends about Jesus too. Amen.
