The Spirit of Jesus
Galatians 4:6-7
“Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’ So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.”
The Spirit of Jesus is given to those who experience salvation, sealing our inheritance as heirs in the kingdom of God. The Spirit of God also draws us to the Father because we are now one with him in Spirit. The longing and drawing work of the Spirit of God in us, or intimacy with the Father, is lifelong. A mark of the Spirit’s presence in our lives is that we desire to be with our Father in prayer. In the absence of that desire we must ask the basic question of whether we have the Spirit. The Spirit of God within us draws us into intimacy with the Father, Abba Father.
Abba Father, thank you for the gift of the Spirit and intimacy with you this day. My ears are open to hear your voice this day and respond to your invitation.
