Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
Service in the Kingdom
Numbers 4:4, 24-25, 29, 31
“This is the work of the Kohathites in the Tent of Meeting: the care of the most holy things…This is the service of the Gershonite clans as they work and carry burdens: They are to carry the curtains of the tabernacle…Count the Merarites by their clans…This is their duty as they perform service at the Tent of Meeting: to carry the frames of the tabernacle…”
God was very clear in assigning duties to the Israelites, and specifically to the clans of the Levite tribe. Everyone had a job to do on behalf of the Lord.
Do we understand what our roles and responsibilities are in the Church of Jesus Christ?
Are we beneficiaries of worship, teaching and ministry without investing our own gifts, time and resources in the worship of God?
Are there opportunities for all of us to serve in Christ’s kingdom?
Or are some of us consumers and others producers?
We too have been redeemed, like the Levites, by the blood of the Lamb. We are the church of the firstborn (Hebrews 12:23), and we belong to God. There is a place and responsibility in the kingdom for each one of us if we inquire of the King.
Lord Jesus, thank you that I’ve been redeemed to serve and invest my life in worshiping you.
