Running From The HeartSample
Struggles
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called… (1 Timothy 6:12)
“I’m struggling! It’s an excruciating moment to be faced with your own darkness. I take responsibility and repent for all the wrong I’ve done, my heart has broken for the hurt I have caused God, countless wrong choices, temptations. There is a lot I regret that I must and am handing over to God. The process continues...
God gives us each a cup we must drink and I cannot compare myself and will not compare myself with another. All I know is what I’ve seen and experienced and that has helped me better understand Christ’s love for me and for every precious soul. Again, I am humbled. The victory is won, the battle is the Lord’s and I stand for Him to see His Kingdom come...”
Rebecca would be the first to say that God had appointed her seasons of struggle for her to go deeper in Him and to learn more about herself.
During times of struggle, Rebecca would be inspired by the beauty of God’s creation. She loved butterflies and saw how the struggle a butterfly has to break free of its chrysalis, prepared it for the journey ahead.
Rebecca writes about butterfly migrations.
“If the butterflies are taken off course, they find their way back to the right track/path/ direction. God help me to choose the path of wisdom!”
Selah
I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness – secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord... the one who calls you by name. (Isaiah 45:3, NLT)
Struggles are a normal part of a Christians walk and through them, God is growing your faith. In your own dark storms, search out the treasures God has for you through your struggles, not because of your circumstances but in spite of them. You may have wandered off the path but God is always there to carry you back.
What have you, or what are you, learning through your struggles?
Passing the Baton:
Be strong and run with courage! Don’t get discouraged, God is with you every step of the way.
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, please hear my prayer for help! I’m struggling with [tell God exactly you’re your struggling with]. [If you need to, ask God to forgive you for anything you’ve done to hurt Him]. Please help and strengthen me to trust you and to fight the good fight of faith. Thank you for loving me and for the treasures you have promised to give me in the darkness. Amen.
