He's always there

It can be very hard to realize in this busy world that Jesus is always with us. Like a storm, we are tossed around, distracted and generally unstable.

The storms of life have a way of derailing us so that our dreams are withheld. We focus so much on fear that we no longer see the miracle in front of us. The stresses of life can wear us down and cause hope to be a myth we leave only to naïve children.

However, I have found hope with the story of the storm and the disciples. It is a powerful reminder of what the presence of God can do.

The disciples had a good framework we can emulate and it’s pretty simple. In the midst of the storm, run to Jesus. He alone has the power to calm every storm of life you may encounter.

I’m comforted through the lyrics of this hymn:

Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord
Lord of all

Action:
Try to recall moments where you felt God was present with you in the storm (tangibly, or through family, friends, a sermon or song etc.)

Thank Him for those moments, in prayer.
