The Art Of Neighboring: Week TwoSample
Over the past six days, we have studied how God equips us to carry out his command to love others. Loving others is not easy. It can be hard to love people who share our faith; with those who are hostile or indifferent to God, we may not even know where to start. One way we respond to the love of God is through serving others. And God has given each of us unique opportunities to serve him through serving other people.
Thankfully, we do not have to do this in our own strength.
Pray
Holy Spirit, please demonstrate your power by giving me strength where I am weak.
Read
God uses our lack of ability to demonstrate his all-sufficient power and grace.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Reflect
No matter how deeply we believe we should love our neighbor, we will inevitably come up against moments where we fail to do this well. Yet Christ loves to put our limitations to his good purposes.
Respond
What does it mean that God’s grace is sufficient for your weakness? Think about a particular weakness that you feel keeps you from being able to love well. Ask God to show off his grace in that area.
