Closer Than A Brother.Sample
Closer Than A Brother.
Jesus will stick closer than a brother. God will lead your heart on how to handle the heart of your friends. Proverbs 17:17 KJV states that, “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Friends are graced for various seasons. Brothers are born during times of adversity. Jesus said that He will never leave you or forsake you. Jesus will stick closer to you than any fire forged brother. His bond is everlasting. He holds eternity in His hands. He holds tomorrow in His hands. So why not let God handle your relationships?
Let God weigh the heart of those around you. Let God dwell in the midst of your circle. Let God weigh your heart. Let God’s Word lead your actions. Are you a good friend to others? Do you defend your friends in public and in private? Or do you gossip about your friends behind their back? Do you receive and listen to gossip about your friends? Shift the narrative.
Pray for your friends. Pray with your friends. Pray for one another daily. War together. Labor in prayer together. Sharpen each other. In the multitude of wise, God-led counsel there is safety and security. When God is at the center of your counsel you will not go astray.
Your friends are not God. They are not a God substitute. Do not worship your friends. Choose to worship God. True friends are a reflection of God’s heart and an extension of His Grace. Don’t idolize your friendships. Submit and surrender your friendships to God.
