Go: Your Action Plan To Change The World

DAY 26 OF 32

“Facing Your Accusers" READY After an unjust night in jail, Peter and John were interrogated by no less than the top leaders of Israel. In those days, the high priest wasn’t just a religious leader, but a political leader as well. So Peter and John were facing the most powerful, the most influential, and the smartest authorities of the land. Remember, these guys were simple provincial fishermen who just decided to follow Jesus. Intellectually, culturally, financially - they were inferior to these men in every way. Except for one. They had the Holy Spirit. Suddenly, Peter boldly answered them. He addressed the injustice they were facing and pointed to the even greater crime of crucifying the Savior. This was just a few weeks after Peter was so cowardly that he denied Jesus when a servant questioned him. Now he was being questioned by the highest officials and he responded with courage. What was the difference? The Holy Spirit. We all will face moments when we will have to give a reason for our faith. We will feel insecure, inadequate, and inferior compared to the people around us. But don’t forget where the power comes from. Our courage, our power, our right to speak comes from the Holy Spirit. SET Have you been placed in a situation where you were scared of preaching the gospel? Or was there a time you were intimidated by the people you wanted to share the gospel with? What were you afraid of? How did you overcome it or how will you overcome in the future? GO Pray for those who accuse you. Believe that God will turn their hearts to Him as you lift them up in prayer.
