Hold Your PeaceSample
Hold Your Peace
Choose to hold your peace. Choose to restrain your words and actions. Let God lead you and keep you through chaotic times. Choose to deliberately hold your peace even when chaos surrounds you. The Bible states in Proverbs 25:28 KJV, “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” According to Strong’s Concordance the word, “rule”, is the Hebrew Word, “matsa” (H4623) which means, “Restraint or control”. So he that doesn’t have restraint or control over his spirit, thoughts, deeds, actions and words is like a city that is broken down and vulnerable to attack.
When you act out of character, even in chaotic, dysfunctional organizations and situations, you position yourself like a city that is defenseless and open for the enemy to attack. God has given you the ability to restrain yourself. Choose your words wisely. Let God lead your response and actions. Hold your peace and pray before you enter a meeting. Pray before you start your day. Pray and choose to engage God before you give a presentation. Engage God early and often throughout the process.
Choose to let wisdom rule over your spirit and filter through your actions. Let God lead your tongue. Let God guide your next step. Let God guide your next course of action. Your city, or your “personal economy” is dependent upon your ability to restrain yourself. Restrain your actions. Whether you’re in the boardroom, at home, or the classroom self-control is critical to your success. Choose to hold your peace and let God fight on your behalf.
