Everyone. Everywhere. Part 1Sample
This Summer: Most college students are used to the summer being an exciting time. We think back to the days when we were kids—school was out, and we felt as if we had all the freedom in the world. However, when we get to college, our summers often look a little differently. The summer may be filled with a new job, summer school, study abroad, or even going back home to spend time with family. Some of us may be really excited and looking forward to the next few months of change.
Often, though, summer away from friends—and especially our Christian community—can be difficult. Therefore, we want to challenge you to take some time to think about your spiritual goals for the summer. How do you want to walk with the Lord this summer?
In the book of John, we are told that apart from Jesus, we can do nothing.Through prayer, we have direct access to the Creator of the universe! There is no better way to abide in Jesus than spending time communicating with Him.
- Questions:
- How do you tend to view prayer? Is it easy or difficult for you?
- Reflect on John 15:5-7. Write down some ways you hope to abide and remain in Christ this summer. Keep these goals in a place where you can be reminded of them, maybe a sticky note or on your phone.
- Prayer: Father, I desire to always abide in you. Help me to walk in truth daily, boldly living out the Gospel. I pray that my every thought, word, and action would glorify you. Lord, I pray that this summer would be a time of deeper intimacy with you. Amen.
