Be a Voice of Truth

What type of voice do you have? Are you a loud talker or a quiet one?

Your voice says a lot about you. But what about being a voice of truth? Do you speak the truth in love when presented with a situation, or do you tend to back away?

When we speak up about God, we are jumping into spiritual battles, and bringing truth to the ears of people.

Yet throughout church history, speaking the truth has often left believers marginalized, demonized, and even criminalized at times (because Satan hates the truth). 

Jesus said, “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels” (Mark 8:38).

The key phrase for us today is “and my words.” Because the words of Christ—which bring life to our dead bodies—are not popular or politically correct these days. As a matter of fact, when Christians encourage people to turn from sexual sin, (in particular), our secular culture demonizes those Christians as hateful and bigoted.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Christ’s command to “faithfully preach truth” still applies regardless of cost or consequence. And when we do, it releases His divine power to destroy the lies that set themselves against the knowledge of God.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

So, be more aware if and when you should be a voice of truth. God desires for you to speak up and speak out on things that run contrary to His Word. Remember. When you are a voice of truth—you are allowing the power of God to shine light into darkness.
