Yes, He Knows!

DAY 2 OF 5

FEAR

He knows!

We say that we are filled with fear for the future. He knows. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was so troubled that He sweated great drops of blood.

George Matheson prayed: “Teach me the value of my thorn. Show me that I have climbed to Thee by the path of pain.”

It is only when you take a beautiful rose petal and crush it that the lovely fragrance is released. You have to take an orange and squeeze it before you can taste the sweet nectar. It’s through the tears that we can see our rainbows. It’s through hardship, through suffering.

Jesus Christ endured His greatest test at Gethsemane. It was there that He had to make the choice whether or not to go to Calvary.

Gethsemane in Hebrew means “olive press.” It’s where they grind the olives to remove the oil. Jesus sweated great drops of blood in His despair and anguish (see Luke 22:44). He was God, but He was also a man.

Can you imagine what would have happened to you and me if Jesus had decided not to go through with Calvary? We would have surely perished in our sin.

Lord God, it would have been so easy for Jesus not to go through with His sacrifice. But He didn’t. He persevered. Help me to face my adversities and tribulations with the courage I find in Your strength. Amen

About this Plan

Yes, He Knows!

I  went out for a run one morning when it was dark and very cloudy, but the moon kept breaking through—so beautiful and peaceful. I felt so close to our Saviour, Jesus Christ. While running, I was reflecting on this season of Easter and the Holy Spirit impressed upon me the following in this 5-day plan leading up to Easter.
