Love God Greatly - 1 & 2 PeterSample
Peter warns the Jewish Christians against false teachers who denied that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully man and fully God. He states that many will fall away from the faith because of their deception, and they will be harshly judged by God. There are many movements in the history of the Christian faith that were started by false teachers and led to many being deceived. We are urged to make sure everything that we hear lines up with the Word of God. For this reason in Acts 20:27, believers are urged to learn and study the entire counsel of God (the Bible) in context, through church and/or bible study. This way, believers won’t be exploited through deceptive words.
