Dry Bones: Take It Off The ShelfSample
Very Dry.
“And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.” Ezekiel 37:2 KJV
When Ezekiel passed through the valley of dry bones, in Ezekiel 37:2, he noticed two things: 1. That there were very many bones in the valley. 2. The bones were very dry. We later find out in Ezekiel 37:11, that these very dry bones represented the spiritual condition of Israel during that time. The valley of dry bones, that Ezekiel was led to, was not a representation of nor a reflection of Ezekiel’s present heart condition or his present season. In fact, the bones in the valley were a reflection of Israel’s spiritual state and season during that time.
Sometimes, God will send you to someone else’s dry valley in order to speak life. When God sends you into someone else’s valley, He does not send you broken, dry or defeated — He sends you full and with power. Ezekiel was sent by God to speak life to their dry and defeated situation.
These bones reflected the spiritual, emotional and the physical state of Israel. During that time, their hope as a nation was dry and withered. As a people they were emotionally drained, spiritually slain and physically defeated. In fact, the Bible calls the condition of the bones in the valley as “very dry”. Sometimes, you’re sent to very dry places where the vision, dream and the people have been defeated for so long that success seems to be a far stretch. God sent Ezekiel to a people during their darkest and driest hour in order to speak life.
Sometimes, God sends Ezekiels to deliver a message of hope to a valley full of dry bones. God has put His Word in your mouth and His fire in your hands in order to rebuild, revive and to restore. His Promise, His Hope, and His Plans for you are great. It’s time to build again.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus, my Hope is in You. There is nothing that can stand in Your Way. Lord, You are Holy and there is none like You in all of The Earth. My Soul worships You. My Spirit worships You. Your Name is to be exalted in my life. My Destiny belongs to You.
My heart belongs to You. My Hope and Future is in Your hands. Father, You are Lord of the impossible. You are King over all of Heaven and Earth. Everything bows down to You. In the Name of Jesus, I bow to You. You are with me through the Valley. You are with me in all that I say and do.
Lord, I will put my hand to the plow and not look back, according to Luke 9:26. I surrender my plans to You. Father, order my steps. Guide my heart. Lead my tongue. Anoint my hands to do Your mighty work In Jesus Name. Amen.
