As Mary was seated at Jesus’ feet, He says that she had chosen what is better not what is right. There wasn’t anything wrong with Martha making preparations, but it wasn’t the right time for it.
Maybe you have a natural tendency to be quite protective over your schedule, unwilling to change plans, especially if they’re last minute. What if generosity looked like more than just changing last-minute plans but was about choosing to be available for people.
Your schedule may well be full of important things, but today choose to serve others in generosity, even as your worship.
