ENOUGH: SAFE
“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)
Psalm 4 sees King David calling upon God in his distress, declaring that the Lord hears, and challenging us to search our hearts and trust in the Lord. Then, David declares, he will lie down and sleep in peace. It’s probable David had a few sleepless nights over the years he reigned, and the Lord graciously provided that comfort and peace. He still provides it today.
Millions will not sleep well tonight because of war, hunger, displacement and natural disaster.
This verse applies to us, too. Anxieties and stress rob us of peaceful sleep; but we can use this psalm as a guide to pray for those who live with unrest in our world, and for those who find it hard to rest in our world.
Lord Jesus, today bring Your peace to the places of unrest. May we call upon You and know that You answer us. We pray for those who are in great need. May they feel Your light of hope and peace. Amen.

About this Plan
In God’s eyes, we are more than enough. It’s why He sent His son to reconcile us to Him. Though we may never grasp just how much He loves us, at Lent we can take time to reflect on all He did for us. It's time to reject the message that we aren’t enough, and instead remember Christ died for us, just as we are.
