ENOUGH: DISTRACTIONS
“One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.” (Luke 6:12)
Maybe you’re reading this on a train listening out for your station, or perhaps you’re in your kitchen with the radio on in the background. Maybe you’re at work with the demands of the day filling your mind, or perhaps you’re sitting in a café waiting for a friend to arrive.
Distractions are all around us. Your attention may have been dragged away from these last couple of sentences multiple times already. I don’t know about you, but I find “quiet” time very difficult.
During Jesus’ lifetime, we see that He built in specific times to be away from distractions and be with God. I think there was something about getting out into the silence, and away from distractions, that meant Jesus remained in close relationship with God. There may be lots of distractions surrounding you today, but can you take a few moments to be still and pray?
Lord God, thank You that we have the opportunity to talk to You and be in relationship with You. Among the distractions that are constantly surrounding us, give us the courage to stop and speak to You. Thank You that it is You who brings us peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan
In God’s eyes, we are more than enough. It’s why He sent His son to reconcile us to Him. Though we may never grasp just how much He loves us, at Lent we can take time to reflect on all He did for us. It's time to reject the message that we aren’t enough, and instead remember Christ died for us, just as we are.
